How to reach us
By train
Stop at Ferrandina Station (35 km far from Matera) and take a bus of FAL bus service to reach the central station of Bari (60 km far from Matera). After that, take a bus or a train of FAL to Matera.
By bus
Because of a poor railway service, you have many alternative options. The Marino bus service links up Matera to Milan, Ancona, Bologna, Chianciano, Fiuggi, Naples, Novara, Reggio Emilia, Sassuolo and Urbino as well as many foreign cities. The Marozzi and Liscio bus services links up Matera to Rome, Florence, Pisa and Siena offering two day journeys and a night one.
By car
From the Adriatic coast: take the Bologna - Taranto highway and then take the direction Bari North. Then follow the direction towards Altamura - Matera (SS 99 - national road).
From the Tyrrhenian coast: take the Salerno - Reggio Calabria highway and when you find Sicignano degli Alburni follow towards Potenza. Then take the direction towards Metaponto (SS 407 - national road) and finally you will see the direction towards Matera.
By airplane
Reach the airport of Bari Palese (about 60 km far from Matera).
In Matera
Follow the Sasso Caveoso entry, and then go along Via Bruno Buozzi. Turn on the left in Via S. Pietro Caveoso; go along the street to reach Piazza San Pietro. The reception is on the left of the square.
